Addressing lawmakers at a two-day caucus workshop in Accra, Minority Chief Whip Annoh Dompreh claimed the NDC administration’s shortcomings were exposed far sooner than expected. “I dare say that the NDC government has become unpopular even faster than we anticipated, and it did not take long for the shallowness to be exposed at every level,” he stated.
Dompreh warned that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be doing Ghanaians a “disservice” if it fails to intensify pressure on the government over accountability. He argued that millions of Ghanaians deserve to know the true nature of their leadership to make informed decisions about the country’s future..jpg)
The Minority Chief Whip painted a grim picture of life under the current administration, listing widespread discontent among key sectors. “The cocoa farmer is wailing, the teachers are crying, nurses are wailing, public servants are crying, market women are crying,” he said, describing these as a reflection of what he called the “scum of the NDC government.”
Speaking on the workshop theme, “The United Front: Forging a cohesive parliamentary strategy post-primaries,” Dompreh urged his colleagues to close ranks and believe in their ability to deliver prosperity.
He stressed that if there was ever a time for the NPP to retake governance, it is “certainly 2028 and not beyond 2028.”
Declaring that “victory is in our hands,” Dompreh called on party leadership and supporters to draw a line and commit to reclaiming power. “By the grace of the Almighty, the NDC must go back to where they belong,” he concluded.
