The donation was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, as part of the Assembly's annual contribution towards the celebration of the festival.

The items presented included bags of maize, palm oil, fish, bottled water, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as an undisclosed cash donation.

Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Totimeh said the Assembly considered it important to support the people of Tema during their annual festival in recognition of the strong and cordial relationship it enjoys with the Tema Traditional Council.

He described the Traditional Council as a key stakeholder in the development of the municipality and assured the chiefs of the Assembly's commitment to strengthening the existing partnership to promote sustainable development.

According to the MCE, the donation was also a gesture to seek the blessings and prayers of the traditional authorities for wisdom, good health, and lasting peace to enable the Assembly to continue implementing development programmes across the municipality.

"This support is our way of identifying with the Traditional Council during this important celebration and acknowledging their continuous support for the work of the Assembly," he said.

Mr. Totimeh wished the chiefs and people of Tema a peaceful and successful Homowo Festival and urged residents, particularly the youth, to celebrate responsibly and avoid acts that could disrupt the festivities.

He further encouraged the people to uphold the values of unity, respect, and discipline to ensure a safe, peaceful, and incident-free celebration.
