The initiative is aimed at addressing the shortage of classroom furniture and ensuring that pupils have comfortable seating to enhance their academic performance.

Announcing the exercise, the District Chief Executive (DCE) said the distribution reflects the Assembly's commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring that no child in the district is compelled to sit on the floor to receive lessons.

According to the DCE, the intervention aligns with the education agenda of President John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to improve access to quality education through sustained investment in school infrastructure and learning resources.

The DCE also acknowledged the support and leadership of the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah, whose collaboration continues to advance educational development in the district.

The distribution is expected to commence soon, with priority to be given to schools facing acute shortages of classroom furniture.

The District Assembly expressed optimism that the intervention would create a more conducive learning environment for pupils, improve classroom participation, and support efforts to enhance educational outcomes across the district.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader commitment to investing in education and ensuring that every child in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District has access to a safe, comfortable and enabling environment for learning.
