Awutu Senya East Constructs New Elementary School at Kasoa Prisons

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Ghana Prisons Service and the Ghana Education Service, has commenced the construction of a new elementary school at the Prisons enclave in Kasoa. The initiative forms part of efforts to address the increasing demand for educational infrastructure in the rapidly expanding municipality.

The project was officially launched with a sod-cutting ceremony attended by traditional authorities, key stakeholders in the education sector, officers of the Ghana Prisons Service, and members of the local community.

Also present at the event were the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Seth Sabath Serwornoo-Banini.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts TV, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Seth Banini, described the project as a significant step towards addressing the educational needs of the fast-growing Kasoa area. He emphasized that the facility will help improve access to quality education for children within the municipality.

Mr. Banini further disclosed that the project is expected to be completed within six months. Upon completion, the school will be managed by trained officers of the Ghana Prisons Service.
