Speaking with evident emotion, Hon. Cudjoe referenced specific cases that have recently gripped the nation’s conscience. “Last year, it was the horrific assault of Madam Harriet Amuzu, a mother of two, captured on video. Now, we have another young woman being brutalized by her partner, shared for all to see on social media,” she stated.

“No woman, no man, and certainly no child should endure such cruelty in a space meant for love and safety,” the MP declared, firmly stating that domestic violence is a criminal act, not a private family issue.

Cudjoe’s address was a direct call to action for Ghana’s protective institutions. She urged them to move from reaction to proactive prevention. “These viral incidents are a national wake-up call. We cannot allow this to continue unchecked. Swift intervention, public education, and relentless awareness are non-negotiable,” she asserted.

She had a clear message for victims: break the silence. “Do not let fear or shame isolate you. Every Ghanaian deserves protection and justice—speak up and report abuse,” Cudjoe urged.

The MP also called on key agencies—including the Police, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, and the media—to intensify collaborative efforts. “We need sustained awareness, but we must pair it with swift legal action and stronger enforcement to protect victims and ensure accountability.”

Concluding her urgent plea, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe framed the challenge as a collective duty: “We must build a society where abuse is universally condemned, victims are supported, and justice is the norm. Together, we can create a Ghana where everyone lives free from fear.”
