The projects include the construction of a two-storey, four-unit Kindergarten block with ancillary facilities at Darul Hadith Islamic School, a two-storey vertical extension comprising an eight-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Darkuman Junior High School, and the construction of a clinic compound at Kwashiebu to expand access to quality healthcare services.
The initiatives are expected to significantly improve learning conditions for pupils by reducing overcrowding, enhancing teaching and learning environments, and providing modern facilities to support early childhood education. The healthcare project at Kwashiebu will strengthen primary healthcare delivery and bring essential medical services closer to residents of the area.
The ceremony was attended by the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kalamu Musah Adamu, government appointees, Assembly Members, traditional authorities, Islamic leaders, staff of the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, and residents of the municipality.
Officials present described the projects as a demonstration of government’s commitment to fulfilling development promises and investing in critical social infrastructure. The interventions form part of H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s “Rebuilding Our Nation” agenda, which prioritises education and healthcare as pillars for sustainable development.
When completed, the projects are expected to enhance service delivery, improve the quality of life for residents, and contribute to the long-term socio-economic development of Ablekuma North Municipality.
