There are myriad public institutions responsible for the promotion of civic rights, security and justice in every District. They include the Ghana Police Service (GPS), the District Magistrate Court (DMC), Commission on Human Right and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). The district has a police station at Waya which is complemented by the District Security Committee (DISEC) to promote peace and sanity. Conflict resolution processes such as mediation, Arbitration and fines are still being used to administer justice.

The District is yet to have a District magistrate Court and a Fire Service Station so most cases from these agencies are referred to Ho and other Surrounding District depending on the proximity to redress the situation
