Dr. Vanessa Apea, a Medical Doctor and Founder of the Center, said the initiative sought to bridge the gap between world-class medical standards and local healthcare needs.

Dr. Apea, who trained at the University of London and Harvard University, said the Center would draw on her decades of clinical and global health experience.

She noted that the model was influenced by London’s Harley Street district, known for its concentration of top-tier medical specialists.

“This is about more than just opening a clinic, we are creating an ecosystem where patients can access diverse services under one roof, guided by a team approach and a culture of clinical excellence,” she said.

Dr. Apea said the medical center brought together Ghanaian and international specialists to offer services in general medicine, wellness, and dermatological care.

It also includes wellness-focused partnerships with international brands such as Reviv, a provider of IV nutrient and hydration therapies, and Healthy Skin, Nails, a cosmetic dermatology company that focuses on non-invasive treatments.

Dr. Apea said these partnerships aimed to introduce treatments previously unavailable or limited in Ghana, with an emphasis on safety, effectiveness, and cultural sensitivity.

“Too often, patients travel abroad for services that can be provided locally if given the right support, by building strong collaborations, we can make global-standard care accessible at home,” she said.

Dr. Apea further said the center could help decongest public hospitals if private clinics like these were integrated into the broader health delivery system, particularly through referrals and knowledge-sharing.

The center is poised in shaping Ghana’s evolving health landscape, especially in areassuch as preventive care, chronic disease management, and access to specialized treatment.

The Accra London Health Center’s approach blends clinical medicine with wellness and aesthetics, a model becoming more popular among urban populations.

Dr. Apea insisted the core focus remained on holistic, evidence-based healthcare.

“Our patients are not just numbers, we listen, we involve them in decisions, and we’re building a system that prioritises dignity, compassion, and continuity of care,” she said.

She expressed the hope that the facility would also serve as a platform for training and mentorship of young Ghanaian health professionals.

“We want to invest in people, not just infrastructure,” she added.

The launch was attended by members of the medical fraternity, civil society, and representatives of diplomatic missions.
