The facility, which includes nurses’ accommodation and a mechanized borehole, was officially inaugurated by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang.
The project, which commenced on November 17, 2025, forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and bring essential medical services closer to the people.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Obeng Agyemang said the commissioning of the facility reflects the Assembly’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery, particularly in the areas of maternal and child health, preventive healthcare, and emergency services.
According to him, the CHPS compound will significantly reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances to access healthcare.
“This facility is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that every resident has access to quality healthcare services within their community,” he stated.
The DCE commended the District Health Directorate for deploying qualified and dedicated health personnel to the facility ahead of its commissioning, describing the move as a demonstration of their commitment to effective healthcare delivery.
He further urged health officials to intensify public education on the services available at the facility and collaborate closely with community members to ensure its proper maintenance and sustainability.
Hon. Obeng Agyemang also acknowledged the contributions of the Community Health Management Committee, noting that their support had been instrumental in advancing healthcare initiatives within the area.
He advised residents to seek medical attention promptly whenever they fall ill and cautioned against self-medication and the use of unqualified health practitioners.
“Residents should take advantage of the services available at this facility and avoid self-medication. Early diagnosis and treatment can save lives and prevent complications,” he emphasized.
The DCE expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for supporting initiatives aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure across the country. He also acknowledged the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, for his policy direction, as well as the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for his support and coordination in advancing development projects within the region.
