The announcement has brought immense relief to residents who have, for years, risked life and limb crossing the river on a rickety log.

The Minister’s intervention follows a viral video that captured children precariously navigating the unsafe log, sparking widespread concern and public outrage. The footage highlighted the urgent need for safe infrastructure in the area.

During the sod-cutting ceremony to commence construction, Mrs. Awatey directed the contractor to deliver quality work within the set schedule, emphasizing accountability and efficiency. She also called on residents to cooperate with the construction team to ensure timely completion of the project.

“We’re not just building a bridge, we’re building a safer future,” the Minister stated, reassuring the community of the government’s commitment to improving local infrastructure and enhancing safety for all residents.

The bridge project is expected to transform daily life in Asuokaw, providing safe passage for schoolchildren, residents, and traders, while symbolizing the government’s dedication to community development and safety.
