Hope for Flood Victims as NADMO Delivers Emergency Assistance to Ablekuma North

The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has received relief items from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to provide immediate assistance to residents affected by the recent flooding in parts of the municipality.

The relief intervention, released pursuant to the directive of President John Dramani Mahama, forms part of the Government's emergency response to support flood-affected households and help communities recover from the impact of the disaster.

The items are expected to provide much-needed relief to affected families while broader recovery and rehabilitation efforts continue across the municipality.

The Assembly described the intervention as a demonstration of the Government's commitment to ensuring the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable residents and mitigating the effects of the floods on affected communities.

The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with NADMO and other relevant agencies to ensure the relief items are distributed fairly, transparently, and reach those most affected by the flooding.

The Assembly also urged residents to remain vigilant throughout the rainy season by adhering to safety advisories and taking precautionary measures to safeguard lives and property.

Residents were further encouraged to support ongoing flood mitigation efforts by avoiding indiscriminate disposal of refuse into drains, desilting gutters around their communities, and cooperating with relevant authorities to reduce the risk of future flooding.

The Assembly assured the public that it would continue collaborating with NADMO and other stakeholders to strengthen disaster preparedness, enhance community resilience, and protect vulnerable communities from the adverse effects of flooding.
