Upper Denkyira West District Records Progress in Electricity Coverage
Date Created : 6/1/2026 : Story Author : Mary Ayertey/Ghanadistricts.com
The widespread availability of electricity has contributed positively to both domestic and commercial activities across the district, improving livelihoods and supporting local economic growth.
Access to electricity has also enhanced productivity among small businesses, promoted educational activities, and improved living conditions for residents in many communities.
Despite the gains made, the district continues to face challenges in extending electricity supply to newly developed residential areas and settlements.
The non-extension of electricity to these newly developed sites remains a major concern for residents, as it affects household activities, business operations, and overall socio-economic development.
Residents and stakeholders have therefore called for increased investment and accelerated expansion of electricity infrastructure to ensure that all communities and emerging settlements benefit from reliable power supply.
The District Assembly remains committed to collaborating with relevant agencies and development partners to improve energy accessibility and address the growing electricity demands within the district.
