Bui Power Authority Engages Kintampo South DCE to Boost Flood-Risk Awareness and Community Preparedness

The Bui Power Authority (BPA) has initiated its annual downstream community sensitization program by engaging district assemblies, including Kintampo South, to enhance flood-risk awareness and strengthen stakeholder collaboration.

During the meeting, BPA confirmed from the District Assemblies receipt of operational flood maps illustrating potential inundation scenarios to aid local authorities in planning, emergency response, and risk management.

Hydrologist Jakpa Abdul-Ganiu Adamu highlighted the impact of activities like illegal farming and artisanal mining on riverbanks, increasing flood vulnerability.
