In the municipal capital, Nkawkaw, pipe-borne water supplied by the Ghana Water Company Limited is available, providing reliable treated water to households and businesses.

Beyond the township, the Municipality has invested significantly in alternative water systems. Currently, there are 69 mechanized boreholes, 184 hand-pumped boreholes, and 136 hand-dug wells spread across various communities.

These interventions have played a crucial role in expanding access to clean water, particularly in rural areas where pipe-borne systems are limited.

Despite the progress, stakeholders say more needs to be done to reach the remaining 30 percent of the population who still lack reliable access to potable water.

Authorities are therefore being urged to intensify efforts to expand water infrastructure and ensure equitable distribution across all communities in the Kwahu West Municipality.

With continued investment, the Municipality is expected to move closer to achieving universal access to safe water for all residents.
