Carried out over the past two days, the exercise marks a significant step in the Assembly’s efforts to expand access to essential services in the areas of education, healthcare, water, and sanitation.

Among the beneficiary communities are St. Thomas Senior High School, Nkurakan, and Quarshie, where new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds will be constructed to enhance primary healthcare delivery. Zion Primary School is also set to benefit from a new classroom block to improve teaching and learning.

In the water and sanitation sector, several communities including Israel, Alimakojo, Nyankomase, Osenase RC, Densuakwa, and Kyei Krom will receive mechanized boreholes to provide safe and reliable sources of drinking water.

Leading the sod-cutting exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila, accompanied by a delegation from the Assembly, called on residents and stakeholders to take ownership of the projects and ensure their sustainability through proper maintenance.

Chiefs, elders, and assembly members from the beneficiary communities expressed appreciation to the Assembly for its continued commitment to improving livelihoods through strategic infrastructure development.

The projects are expected to significantly uplift socio-economic conditions and strengthen service delivery across the West Akim Municipality.
