The distribution exercise, held at the forecourt of the District Agriculture Department on June 4, 2026, forms part of the Assembly's commitment to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural development.
Each beneficiary received two bags of fertilizer, two bottles of weedicide, three pairs of Wellington boots, and two cutlasses to support their farming activities during the current farming season.
Speaking at the event, the District Chief Executive for Amansie Central emphasized the vital role agriculture plays in Ghana's economy and reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to empowering farmers with the tools and resources needed to increase food production.
He noted that the intervention aligns with President John Dramani Mahama's vision of strengthening food security and promoting practical agricultural education to inspire the next generation of farmers.
"Agriculture is the backbone of Ghana's economy, and our farmers must be supported to succeed. By providing these inputs, we are helping farmers increase productivity, improve household incomes, and contribute meaningfully to national food security," he stated.
The DCE added that beyond food production, the initiative would help create economic opportunities for farming households while encouraging young people to embrace agriculture as a viable source of livelihood.
Beneficiary farmers expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the timely intervention, describing the support as a major boost that would reduce production costs and enhance their output.
The exercise forms part of broader efforts by the Amansie Central District Assembly to strengthen the agricultural sector and improve the socio-economic well-being of residents through targeted development interventions.
