Mion Assembly Opens Its Books to Residents as Regional Minister Praises Transparency Drive
The Mion District Assembly has reinforced its commitment to transparency and accountable governance by hosting a major Town Hall Meeting and Accounting to the People Series, bringing government closer to residents and stakeholders.

The event, held at the District Assembly Conference Hall in Sang, attracted traditional authorities, assembly members, development partners, youth groups, women associations, security agencies and residents from across the district.
Addressing participants, Northern Regional Minister Hon. Ali Adolf John commended the Assembly and the District Chief Executive, Hon. Azindow Hamzah Moabalyn, for promoting citizen participation and ensuring that residents remain informed about government projects and development interventions.
The DCE explained that the exercise was aimed at presenting a comprehensive account of the Assembly's activities from January 2025 to June 2026, including achievements in education, healthcare, agriculture, water and sanitation, road infrastructure and local economic development.
Hon. Ali Adolf John described town hall meetings as vital platforms for strengthening democracy, accountability and public trust, noting that sustainable development thrives when citizens actively participate in governance processes.
He further praised the Assembly's achievements and called on residents to continue supporting development initiatives while offering constructive feedback to improve service delivery.
The interactive engagement concluded with residents seeking clarification on ongoing projects and making recommendations on priority development needs, further strengthening collaboration between citizens and local authorities in driving the district's development agenda.
