Birim North District Assembly Holds Clean up Exercise at Old Abirem

The Birim North District Assembly has intensified its efforts towards promoting environmental sanitation and healthy communities with a clean up exercise held at Old Abirem.

The exercise was led by the District Chief Executive, Hakeem Antwi Abdul, and brought together the Abiremhene, Obrempong Nana Akwasi Amoh Kyeretwie I, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Mark Addo, personnel from the various Security Services, Assembly staff, community members and other stakeholders.

 

Participants actively engaged in cleaning activities, including the clearing of refuse, weeds and other materials from public spaces and surrounding areas. The exercise was aimed at improving sanitation, preventing environmental hazards and encouraging residents to take greater responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

 

Addressing participants, the DCE, Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul, reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring improved environmental sanitation across the district. He encouraged residents to make cleanliness a collective responsibility and to sustain the gains made through regular cleaning and proper waste disposal.

 

The Abiremhene, Obrempong Nana Akwasi Amoh Kyeretwie I, also commended the Assembly, the Security Services and residents for their participation, emphasizing the important role of traditional authorities and community members in maintaining clean and orderly communities.

 

The participation of the Security Services further demonstrated the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in promoting discipline, sanitation and sustainable community development.

The Assembly calls on all residents to support ongoing sanitation initiatives by properly disposing of waste and keeping their homes, workplaces and public spaces clean.
