The event, held at the Adentan Municipal Assembly conference hall, brought together local and regional leaders including Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, Member of Parliament for Adentan; Hon. Ella Christine Esinam Nongo, Municipal Chief Executive; the Municipal Coordinating Director; the NAP regional coordinator; and the NYA regional director.
The programme seeks to reduce unemployment among youth and persons with disabilities by strengthening skills training across multiple trades. Items distributed included sewing machines, protective boots, screwdrivers, and other trade-specific tools to support apprentices and master crafts persons in dressmaking, welding, soap making, and more.
Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan praised the initiative’s potential to expand employment opportunities and called for sustained collaboration between national agencies and local stakeholders. The Municipal Coordinating Director reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the donated tools reach beneficiaries who will put them to productive use.
Closing remarks from a master craftsperson and an apprentice highlighted the immediate benefits of the donations, emphasizing how the tools will help translate training into income-generating activities. Organizers noted that the distribution marks a practical step toward strengthening local livelihoods and empowering Adentan’s youth.
