Speed Ramps Constructed Along N4 Highway to Improve Road Safety

Construction of speed ramps and the installation of road safety signs have commenced along the N4 Highway, popularly known as the Main Aburi-Accra Road, as part of efforts to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and schoolchildren.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Paul Osae Offei, inspected the ongoing works at Kemp Methodist School in Aburi, where the speed ramps are being constructed to help control vehicle speeds around the school and other high-risk areas.

The inspection was conducted in collaboration with the Municipal Roads Engineer, who provided updates on the progress of the project.

According to the Municipal Roads Engineer, the road safety interventions will be extended to other accident-prone locations within the area, including the Aburi Girls “Y” Junction and the Kitase Taxi Station.

The initiative is expected to enhance road safety and reduce the risk of accidents, particularly in areas with significant pedestrian and vehicular activity.

The authorities have also urged motorists to exercise caution and observe road signs and speed limits as the works continue.
