The engagements, which cover the municipality's 14 electoral areas, including the Ofankor North Electoral Area, provide residents with an opportunity to raise concerns directly with the Assembly and receive updates on ongoing and planned development interventions.

According to the MCE, the localized town hall meetings and stakeholder interactions are designed to strengthen community participation in local governance while enabling authorities to gather first-hand information on challenges confronting residents.

One of the key issues receiving attention in the Ofankor area is perennial flooding, particularly around the Ofankor Barrier Roundabout during the rainy season.

The Assembly has undertaken dredging and desilting works on major pipe culverts and local gutters in the area to improve the flow of stormwater and reduce the risk of flooding on roads and surrounding communities.

The intervention forms part of efforts to improve drainage infrastructure and protect residents and road users from the effects of flooding during heavy rainfall.

Street lighting and public safety have also featured prominently in discussions between the Assembly and residents.

The Assembly has also been engaging stakeholders on the problem of cable theft along major roads, which can affect street lighting and create safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians.

Sanitation remains another priority area for the Assembly, particularly around the Ofankor dump-site and other public areas.

The Assembly periodically organizes environmental clean-up exercises while enforcing local waste-disposal regulations. Registered waste collection operators are also engaged as part of efforts to improve waste management and maintain cleaner communities.

Through the ongoing engagements, the Ga North Municipal Assembly is seeking to strengthen communication with residents while responding to infrastructure, sanitation, drainage and public safety concerns across the municipality.
