Weija-Gbawe Assembly Upgrades Office Compound with Pavement Blocks

The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has commenced the installation of pavement blocks across its office compound, forecourt and parking areas as part of efforts to improve the working environment and give the municipal headquarters a modern and presentable outlook.

The project is expected to transform the Assembly's premises into a cleaner, more organised and functional environment while creating additional spaces for official activities, public engagements and parking.

The pavement works are also intended to enhance the image and prestige of the Assembly's headquarters, with the improved grounds expected to provide a more attractive and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and residents who visit the facility to transact business.

Beyond the aesthetic benefits, the upgraded compound will provide flexible spaces that can be utilised for public events, Assembly meetings, official gatherings and vehicle parking.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts, the Head of the Works Department, Ing. William Okpoti, said the use of pavement blocks would help address some of the challenges associated with the existing ground surface, particularly during the rainy and dry seasons.

He explained that the improved surface would minimise the formation of mud during the rainy season and reduce dust during dry periods, making the Assembly's premises more convenient and user-friendly for staff and visitors.

Ing. Okpoti added that the improvement of the office forecourt was part of broader efforts to create a more conducive working environment for staff, noting that a cleaner and better-organised workplace could contribute to improved staff morale, productivity and efficiency.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader efforts to improve its infrastructure and municipal facilities to meet the growing needs of residents and enhance administrative service delivery.

Upon completion, the pavement works are expected to give the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly a more functional and presentable headquarters, while providing a suitable environment for both administrative activities and public engagements.
