The delegation was led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, and the District Coordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku, accompanied by members of the Assembly’s management and technical staff.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Nartey said the donation was made on behalf of the Regional Minister, the Member of Parliament for the area and the District Assembly as a gesture of goodwill and solidarity with the Traditional Council.

He noted that the visit was also intended to pay homage to the traditional authorities and custodians of the land ahead of the festivities.

The items presented included 25 bags of rice, 35 bags of maize, five gallons of palm oil, 10 boxes of cooking oil, 30 packs of assorted drinks, 20 packs of bottled water and a cash donation.

The Paramount Chief of Prampram, Nene Wakah III, together with the Queen Mother, Naa Osabu Abbey I, received the delegation and the items on behalf of the chiefs and elders of the Traditional Council.

The Traditional Council expressed appreciation to the Assembly and its partners for the gesture and offered prayers for the continued peace, development and prosperity of the district.

Nene Wakah III commended the Assembly for its support and prayed for peace, bumper harvests and prosperity in all homes. He urged residents to celebrate the Homowo Festival in the spirit of thanksgiving, unity and cultural pride.

He further encouraged families to use the festival, particularly the period of the sprinkling of Kpokpoi, as an opportunity to reconcile differences, honour the memory of departed ancestors and strengthen communal bonds.

Hon. Nartey, in his remarks, appealed to residents to celebrate the festival peacefully and avoid fights, disputes and other acts that could disturb the peace and security of Prampram.

He emphasised that Homowo represents a period of remembrance, reconciliation and gratitude, and urged youth groups, community leaders and families to uphold peace and decorum throughout the celebrations.

He also called on residents to ensure that the festivities reflect the rich cultural values and dignity of the Ga-Dangme tradition, while using the occasion to promote unity and strengthen social cohesion across the Ningo-Prampram District.
