The commendation followed an inspection of ongoing road-shaping works on the Soma–Dabori and Tuna–Kong roads by Hon. Sinkinaa Saaka, together with the Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Osman Salia.
The inspection was undertaken to assess the progress of the works and ensure that the road improvement activities were being carried out to the required standards.
The ongoing works are expected to improve accessibility and ease movement between the beneficiary communities, particularly for farmers, traders, residents and other road users who rely heavily on the routes for their daily activities.
Residents said the improvement of the roads would contribute significantly to reducing transportation difficulties and facilitate the movement of farm produce and other goods between the communities and major market centres.
The people of Dabori and Kong expressed appreciation to the DCE for demonstrating commitment to improving road infrastructure and bringing development closer to residents in the district.
They said the intervention had renewed their confidence in efforts to address the infrastructure challenges confronting their communities and called for the continued maintenance and improvement of the roads.
The residents further appealed for the road-shaping works to be complemented with more durable road construction measures to provide a lasting solution to the transportation challenges in the area.
Hon. Sinkinaa Saaka, during the inspection, reiterated the importance of ensuring that development projects across the district respond to the needs of residents, particularly in areas where poor road conditions affect economic activities and access to essential services.
The road improvement initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance road connectivity within the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District and create better conditions for socio-economic activities in the beneficiary communities
