At a graduation and distribution ceremony held at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly, beneficiaries received startup kits to begin their entrepreneurial journeys.

MCE Advises Beneficiaries on Equipment Care

Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Godfred Dapaa urged recipients to properly maintain the machines provided to them.

"Some youths in the municipality are still seeking such opportunities but haven't received them. If you are among the few selected, thank God and make good use of your machines," he said.

MP Sends Greetings Despite Absence

Hon. Dapaa noted that Nkoranza South MP Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum was unable to attend due to parliamentary commitments the previous day but extended greetings to all beneficiaries.

President's Promise Fulfilled

The MCE highlighted that the program demonstrates President John Dramani Mahama's commitment to empowering Ghanaian youth through skills training.

He also cautioned beneficiaries against selling their equipment, urging them instead to train others and contribute to municipal growth.

Beneficiary Breakdown by Sector

Speaking on behalf of GEA Chief Executive Officer Magritte Osei, Deputy National Project Coordinator Mr. Abdul-Latif Ibn Mohammed described the day as marking "new opportunity and renewed hope" for the 272 young entrepreneurs.

The beneficiaries represent diverse sectors essential to Ghana's economic transformation:

• 70 dressmakers
• 30 hairdressers
• 10 welders
• 3 carpenters
• 5 ladder workers
• 44 plumbers
• 110 livestock entrepreneurs
  
  

"Each startup kit represents an investment in their future," Mr. Mohammed stated.

The items were selected based on the individual needs and preferred areas of economic activity of the beneficiaries. The process was undertaken in collaboration with Assembly Members from the various electoral areas to ensure that the support provided matched the beneficiaries' business interests.

The Member of Parliament, Municipal Chief Executive and Municipal Coordinating Director subsequently presented the items to the beneficiaries in the presence of Assembly Members and staff of the Municipal Assembly.

The Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and creating opportunities for Persons with Disabilities to participate meaningfully in the local economy.
