The acquisition forms part of ongoing efforts by the Municipal Assembly to enhance its operational capacity, particularly in the areas of project supervision, field monitoring, and general administrative duties. The new vehicle is expected to ease mobility challenges that often affect timely monitoring of development projects and other official engagements across communities within the municipality.

According to the Assembly, the improved mobility will not only support routine administrative work but also ensure that development projects are properly supervised to guarantee quality and timely completion. This is expected to contribute to more effective governance and improved delivery of public services to residents.

In addition, the initiative is seen as a strategic intervention to strengthen revenue mobilisation activities. With better transportation support, revenue task forces and officials will be better positioned to carry out regular field operations, engage traders and businesses, and improve the Assembly’s internally generated revenue (IGF) performance.

Hon. Fummey reiterated his commitment to equipping the Assembly with the necessary logistical support required to drive development and improve efficiency in service delivery. He noted that strengthening the operational capacity of the Assembly remains key to achieving sustainable growth and addressing the needs of residents effectively.
