The project forms part of the government's broader agenda to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and accelerate local development across the country through the establishment of modern market infrastructure.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ankrah underscored the significance of the project and commended President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to initiatives aimed at transforming local economies. She noted that the market is expected to operate around the clock, creating opportunities for traders, entrepreneurs, and residents while boosting commercial activities in the district.

According to the DCE, the project will contribute significantly to improving livelihoods and enhancing the socio-economic development of Afigya Kwabre South and the country at large.

She assured residents that funding for the project has been fully secured and disclosed that construction is expected to be completed within 24 months. Upon completion, the facility is expected to position Aboabogya as a major commercial centre and attract increased investment and business activities to the area.

Providing details of the project, the Consultant, Engineer Daniel Yeboah, indicated that construction works would commence shortly and are scheduled for completion within the stipulated timeframe.

He explained that the market has been designed as a modern trading facility equipped with essential amenities to support efficient operations. The project will feature trading stalls, restaurants, a women's bank, a daycare centre, and other complementary facilities to serve traders and patrons.

Engineer Yeboah added that the market's strategic design and accessibility will enhance commercial activities, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the overall economic growth of the district.
