GHS honours Mercy Duako

The 60 year old mother of five who retired from the service late last year served at various health facilities including Akokoa and Nyomoase.
A citation read by the district director of health Mr. Ahmed Ramseyer said in part ‘you served as a leader and mentor while discharging your professional duties as a midwife. During your period of service you demonstrated dedication and commitment in your work’.
It continued ‘the professionalism you showed in the discharge of your duties led to the Nyomoase CHPS compound winning a national award in 2013. Mercy you are indeed a role model to the community, a mentor to your colleagues and an asset to the Ghana Health Service’.
‘The numerous children you delivered will always remember you’ the citation concluded.
She was also presented with a double door refrigerator.
Oheneba Nana Ampadu Boateng, Benkumhene of the Atebubu traditional area who made the presentation lauded Mrs. Duako for her efforts and asked all to emulate her example.
The Atebubu-Amantin directorate of the Ghana Health Service has honored Mrs. Mercy Duako for 13 years of meritorious midwifery work in the district.

In a brief remark after the presentation Mrs. Duako who served the Ghana Health Service for a total of 35 years expressed her gratitude to her colleagues for the honor and urged them to always empathize with their patients.
