Berekum East Assembly fast-tracks completion of Numesua CHPS compound

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly is making frantic efforts to ensure the timely completion of the Numesua Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to improve access to healthcare for residents of the area.

The facility, one of six legacy projects that had reached the roofing stage before the previous administration left office, is now being prioritized for completion.

Assembly Authorities say the project is expected to be finalized by December this year to enable it serve its intended purpose.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Abubakari Fatimatu, revealed that the contract has been modified to include a staff quarters to provide accommodation for nurses assigned to the facility.

This, she said, is to ensure that health workers are adequately supported to deliver quality services to the community.

The MCE added that the Assembly is working closely with the Municipal Health Directorate to ensure that health personnel are posted to the facility immediately after completion.

Meanwhile, resources have also been set aside for the completion of the remaining five legacy projects within the municipality. According to the MCE, funds from the Assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common Fund have been allocated to finance these ongoing developments.

She called on residents to continue supporting the government as it works assiduously to improve living conditions in the municipality.
