The facility, valued at GH¢945,264.45, was funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) RFG Grant and it forms part of efforts to strengthen community-based healthcare delivery in underserved communities and reflects the District Assembly’s commitment to promoting grassroots human security through targeted health interventions.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the District Director of Health Services, Mr. Aremeyaw Zaid, expressed gratitude to the Saboba District Assembly for siting the CHPS compound at Zagbeli. He disclosed that even before the official commissioning, the District Health Directorate had posted a Facility In-Charge and a Midwife to the centre to ensure smooth operations and to ease the burden on expectant mothers who previously had to travel long distances to access maternal healthcare services. Mr. Zaid described the project as a symbol of hope and appreciation to the Ghana Health Service and the people of Zagbeli.

For his part, Mr. George Bilimor Wumbei expressed delight that the facility was completed and fully equipped with modern medical furnishings, including patient beds, delivery beds, examination beds, infant and adult weighing scales, and other essential equipment. He noted that the facility would significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services for residents of Zagbeli and surrounding communities.

The DCE commended the contractor for the successful execution of the project, thanked the community for their cooperation, and acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders. He further urged residents to take good care of the facility and ensure its effective utilization.

The facility comprises a clinic with two consulting rooms, a delivery room, and a detention room, while the residential component includes two single-bedroom self-contained apartments, providing comfortable accommodation for health personnel.
