Nkenkaasu KG School Gets New 2-Unit Classroom Block

The Nkenkaasu KG School has received a newly constructed two-unit Kindergarten (KG) classroom block to provide pupils with a safer and more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Previously, the school had no dedicated classroom facility for its KG pupils. The children were accommodated in an abandoned structure which had deteriorated over time and posed a serious safety risk to both pupils and teachers.

The situation has now been addressed following the demolition of the old structure and the construction of a modern two-unit KG classroom block.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Caesar Acheampong Ofosu, explained that the decision to replace the old structure was necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young learners while creating an appropriate environment for early childhood education.

According to him, the newly constructed facility is expected to improve the learning conditions of KG pupils and provide teachers with a more suitable space to deliver lessons effectively.

The project forms part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure within the municipality, particularly at the basic education level, where adequate and safe classroom facilities are essential for effective learning.

The new KG block has been fully furnished with the necessary furniture and is ready to be put into use. The facility is expected to provide the pupils with a more comfortable and child-friendly setting compared to the unsafe structure they previously occupied.

The construction of the facility was funded through the 10% Education Allocation under the 2025 District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

The completion of the project is expected to contribute to improved access to quality early childhood education at Nkenkaasu KG School while addressing a longstanding infrastructure challenge faced by the school.
