Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Samuel Adongo, said the Municipality has five educational circuits, adding that the intervention was intended to address furniture needs in schools across the various circuits.

He said the items included 250 round tables, 1,500 chairs for Kindergarten pupils, and 500 metal dual desks for Primary and Junior High School (JHS) students.

The MCE assured school heads that the presentation formed part of the first phase of the intervention, and indicated that additional furniture, including teachers’ tables, chairs and cupboards, would be provided before the end of the year.

Hon. Samuel Adongo appealed to the representative of the Municipal Education Directorate, teachers and Circuit Supervisors to educate pupils on the proper use and maintenance of the furniture to ensure its durability.

The representative of the Municipal Education Directorate, Mr. Samuel Okyere, expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the support and assured that the furniture would be properly maintained.

He also commended the Assembly for its commitment to providing additional furniture and cupboards for teachers before the end of the year.

The intervention is expected to help reduce furniture shortages in schools, improve teaching and learning, and provide better conditions for both teachers and students.
