Awutu Senya West Leaders Support SHS Freshers With Essential Supplies

Awutu Senya West: The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Nyamekye Kalala Eghan, has fulfilled a commitment to support newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students under the Back-to-School Drive, providing essential items to help ease the cost of starting their secondary education.

The initiative, implemented by the District Assembly in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, saw beneficiaries receive trunks, chop boxes and student mattresses.

The support is aimed at helping SHS 1 students begin their academic journey with some of the basic items required for boarding school.

Parents and guardians expressed their appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would help reduce the financial pressure associated with preparing their children for senior high school.

Addressing the students, Hon. Kalala encouraged them to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined and respect the rules and regulations of their respective schools.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity and remain focused on their academic goals.

The Back-to-School initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the District Assembly and its partners to support students and promote access to education by helping families meet some of the essential costs associated with the transition to senior high school.
