He said keeping the environment clean would stem the outbreak of communicable diseases, and improve the health and general wellbeing of the people.

The MP gave the advice when he organised a clean-up exercise at the Jinijini Health Center to mark the NSD at Jinijini, the constituency capital.

Mr. Duah emphasised that the government had re-introduced and strengthened NSD to improve sanitation and proper waste management in the country.

Mr. Collins Asomah, the Berekum West District Chief Executive, commended the MP for spearheading the clean-up exercise and expressed appreciation to the constituents for their massive participation.

He explained that with the support of the MP, the clean-up exercise would be held first Saturday of every month to promote environmental cleanliness and to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

Mr. Marvin Boateng, the Berekum West District Environmental Health Officer, also commended the stakeholder and the participants, urging them to support the MP and the Assembly to continue with the clean-up exercise for the good of the people.
