Healthcare access in the district is robust, with facilities spread across eleven communities, including Afrancho, Kodie, Brofoyedru, Ankaase, and Atimatim. The Ankaase Methodist Faith Healing Hospital serves as the main district hospital, ensuring residents receive timely medical care. Proximity to facilities like St. Patrick’s Hospital in Offinso and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital further strengthens healthcare access.

Education is also a priority, with five circuits — Kodie, Atimatim, Ankaase, Aboabogya, and Buoho — hosting 433 schools. The district assembly continues to provide infrastructure, while the Ghana Education Service manages day-to-day academic operations.

Agriculture, the backbone of the district, thrives with food crops like plantain, cassava, maize, and rice, tree crops such as oil palm and citrus, and cash crops like cocoa. Vegetable farming, including tomatoes, garden eggs, and sweet peppers, is on the rise, offering opportunities for agro-processing and market expansion.

Industrial and artisanal growth complements the economy. Auto mechanics, welders, and electricians are establishing businesses, while traditional kente weaving in Brofoyedru preserves cultural heritage and creates employment. Quarrying operations supply essential raw materials for the construction industry.

With near-universal electricity access, 80% water coverage, and strategic initiatives in sanitation, the district is committed to inclusive, environmentally sustainable growth. All residents, regardless of social or economic background, benefit from these programs.

Afigya-Kwabre South is not just developing infrastructure; it is building the foundations for brighter futures.
