Obuasi East MCE Cuts Sod for Health Centre and School Projects to Boost Infrastructure

In a significant step toward improving socio-economic infrastructure in the Obuasi East Municipality, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. William Kofi Adzowu, has cut sod for the construction of three major projects, a modern Health Centre with Nurses’ Quarters at Domeabra, a Kindergarten (KG) block with ancillary facilities at Nyamesomyede, and a Junior High School (JHS) classroom block with ancillary facilities at Asonkore.

The projects are expected to address longstanding challenges in healthcare delivery and educational infrastructure, ushering in improved service delivery and development for residents of Domeabra, Nyamesomyede, Asonkore, and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Adzowu indicated that the new JHS classroom block forms part of efforts to eliminate the shift system in some schools within the municipality.

“Our aim is to ensure that no student loses valuable instructional time due to inadequate classroom space. The new JHS block will help reduce overcrowding and provide a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning,” he stated.

He also highlighted the significance of the KG block at Nyamesomyede, explaining that expanding access to early childhood education remains a key priority for the Assembly. According to him, bringing educational infrastructure closer to communities would help provide children with a strong academic foundation.

The MCE further appealed to community members to support the contractors and cooperate fully to ensure the timely completion of the projects for the benefit of all.
