Mr. Ameko made the remark in a telephone interview in connection with the celebration of International Women’s Day. He said women were not only powerful agents of change but also leaders, and that investing in them would yield stronger families, healthier communities, and a better future.

International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, is a global day instituted to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It also serves as a call to action to accelerate gender parity.

This year’s celebration is on the theme: “Give to Gain – Investing in Women’s Empowerment.”

“If society gives to women today, it will gain a stronger tomorrow because they are powerful agents of change,” he said.

“Their strength and determination continue to inspire us, and their resilience and positivity make a difference in our lives every day,” he added.

Mr. Ameko thanked all women for the extraordinary work they were doing to help build the prosperous nation Ghanaians desired and wished them a happy celebration.
