Denkyembour DCE Joins Kusi Community in Sanitation Drive

On Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, Honorable Umar Ahmed Tutu, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Denkyembour District, actively participated in a large-scale clean-up exercise in Kusi.

He joined forces with traditional authorities, the Assembly Member, and the entire community to improve sanitation and environmental cleanliness.

The DCE, alongside chiefs, elders, and residents, worked together to:

Desilt gutters

Clear choked drains

Sweep streets

Weed overgrown areas

Properly dispose of refuse

Shopkeepers and market stall owners also tidied up their spaces, contributing to a cleaner trading environment.

Addressing the participants after the exercise, the DCE praised the Kusi community for their communal spirit and urged them to sustain such initiatives to promote good health and environmental hygiene. He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to supporting communities with logistics and awareness campaigns to maintain a clean and healthy district.

The traditional authorities expressed their gratitude to the DCE for his participation and support, highlighting that the exercise fostered unity and collective responsibility in addressing sanitation challenges.

The clean-up concluded successfully, with all stakeholders renewing their commitment to making Kusi one of the cleanest communities in the Denkyembour District.
