The commissioning ceremony, which was followed by a market engagement session, attracted a large gathering of stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano South, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC, Madam Abigail Elorm Mensah, traditional leaders, traders, MASLOC staff, and members of the public.
Addressing the gathering, Madam Abigail Elorm Mensah expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the office, describing it as a significant step toward promoting economic growth and improving livelihoods in the municipality. She commended the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive for their support in making the project a reality.
She emphasized that MASLOC is a national institution dedicated to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs, regardless of political affiliation.
“MASLOC does not belong to any political party. It is a government institution established to provide financial support to small businesses and help them grow,” she said.
Madam Mensah noted that the new office would make MASLOC’s services more accessible to traders, artisans, farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances to access financial assistance.
Representing the Paramount Chief of Bechem, Nana Asiwubor Osei Bonsu III, the Ankobeahene, Nana Addai Asubonteng, expressed appreciation to MASLOC for bringing its services closer to the people.
He stated that genuine leadership is reflected in initiatives that positively impact communities and improve the welfare of citizens. According to him, the establishment of the office would ease the burden on residents seeking loans and other forms of financial support to expand their businesses.
Nana Addai Asubonteng urged traders and business owners to take advantage of the opportunities provided by MASLOC to grow their enterprises and improve their living standards. He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development and economic empowerment.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, lauded MASLOC for the initiative, describing it as a major boost to local economic development and community participation.
He advised beneficiaries to regard the financial support as loans rather than grants and to use the funds responsibly to expand their businesses.
“These funds are revolving capital intended to support business growth and sustainability. Beneficiaries must ensure timely repayment so that others can also benefit,” he stated.
Hon. Frimpong further encouraged beneficiaries to remain disciplined and committed to their businesses to maximize the impact of the programme.
He assured the public that the Municipal Assembly would collaborate closely with MASLOC officials to monitor the scheme and ensure that the support reaches hardworking individuals and businesses that genuinely need assistance to improve their livelihoods.
