Afigya Kwabre S. DCE leads sanitation drive for cleaner environment

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Pearl Patricia Ankrah has led a number of Assembly staff in a clean-up exercise at Maase aimed at enhancing sanitation, beautifying the environment and improving public health in the district.

The exercise forms part of a broader initiative to instill a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among residents. It was also in line with the Government’s policy of promoting environmental health nationwide with the first Saturday of each month slated for the exercise.

In her remarks, Hon. Ankrah emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, noting cleaner surroundings not only improve public health but also contribute to the attractiveness and economic potential of the district.

She stated that the Mahama-led administration is committed to making sanitation a national priority. The DCE called on all stakeholders to actively support the exercise adding, a cleaner, healthier district is possible through unity and sustained action. She commended the traditional leaders for their participatory zeal, describing it as unprecedented.

Nana Appiagyei Odanka I, Maasehene who also serves as Otumfuo Boagyaahene, declared the exercise as initiated by the government was a step in the right direction as according to him, every nation needs development.

He stated in view of the relevance of the exercise he decided to lead his community members to partake in cleaning Maase Township and called on them to embrace anything development which transforms human life.
