Kwahu Afram Plains North Boosts Education With New Classroom Blocks in Four Communities

Education infrastructure in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District has received a major boost following the commissioning of new classroom facilities in four communities to provide pupils with safer and more conducive learning environments.

The projects, commissioned as part of a major development drive in the district, include a 2-unit Kindergarten (KG) block at Amankwa-Tornu, a 3-unit Junior High School (JHS) classroom block at Agordeke-Zikpo, a 6-unit classroom block at Avukope, and a KG block at the Donkorkrom Presbyterian School.

The commissioning was led by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, together with the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey.

The new facilities are expected to ease pressure on existing classroom infrastructure while creating improved spaces for teaching and learning.

According to the District Assembly, investment in education infrastructure remains critical to improving learning outcomes and ensuring that children across the district have access to quality educational facilities.

The projects also demonstrate the Assembly’s commitment to extending development interventions to communities and addressing infrastructure gaps that affect the delivery of education.

Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his support under the Resetting Ghana Agenda, as well as traditional authorities, Assembly Members, contractors, development partners and communities for their contributions.

She reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to pursuing projects that directly respond to the needs of residents.

The newly commissioned classroom blocks are expected to provide a fresh environment for pupils and teachers while strengthening the foundation for quality education in Kwahu Afram Plains North.
