Saboba Assembly Re-Elects Biyeger Pakwin Solomon as Presiding Member

The Saboba District Assembly has re-elected Hon. Biyeger Pakwin Solomon as its Presiding Member following a Special Assembly Meeting held at the Assembly’s Conference Hall.

The meeting was convened in accordance with Sections 17(1) and 17(3) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which requires every Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assembly to elect a Presiding Member upon the expiration of a previous term of office.

A total of 34 votes were cast, with 32 valid votes recorded, alongside one rejected vote and one spoiled ballot. Hon. Biyeger Pakwin Solomon secured victory and was officially declared the elected Presiding Member of the Assembly.

He was subsequently sworn into office by the District Circuit Court Judge, His Lordship Francis Asomayil.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, the District Chief Executive, Hon. George Bilimor Wumbei, expressed appreciation to Assembly Members for the peaceful and successful conduct of the election. He urged the Presiding Member to foster unity among members and provide effective leadership to advance the development agenda of the district.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Solomon thanked Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to discharge his duties with integrity, commitment, and impartiality. He also assured members of his readiness to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to promote unity and support the growth and progress of the Saboba District.
