The exercise brought together a diverse group of enthusiastic volunteers, including youth groups, community leaders, and local organizers, all working collaboratively to improve sanitation conditions in the area.

Speaking after the exercise, Mr. Mornyuie expressed appreciation to the residents for their strong participation and commended the organizers for the initiative and effective coordination.

He described the clean-up as a timely reminder of the vital link between environmental cleanliness and public health.

“A clean environment is fundamental to good health and community well-being. This exercise demonstrates the power of unity and civic responsibility in addressing local challenges,” Mr. Mornyuie noted.

He encouraged other communities across the district to emulate the example set by Mafi Kumase, emphasizing the importance of sustained community engagement in maintaining hygiene standards.

“I urge all residents, particularly market traders and shop owners, to support these efforts by refraining from littering and disposing of waste improperly,” he said. “It is only through collective responsibility that we can protect the gains made and ensure a healthier, cleaner Central Tongu for all.”

The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s resolve to continue partnering with local stakeholders in building a more resilient and environmentally conscious district.
