The initiative, organised by the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with the Ghana Enterprises Agency, saw 40 beneficiaries—trained in food processing, particularly pastries—receive essential equipment to boost productivity and support their transition into sustainable businesses.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Kusi urged them to use the equipment responsibly and effectively to achieve its intended purpose of empowering them economically.
He noted that the intervention forms part of the government’s broader commitment to tackling unemployment by equipping young people with practical skills and the resources needed to succeed in a competitive business environment.
The Birim Central Municipal Assembly, he added, remains committed to supporting the beneficiaries through continuous monitoring and the implementation of enabling policies to ensure the long-term sustainability of the initiative.
The MCE emphasized that the programme goes beyond a simple distribution exercise, describing it as a strategic investment in livelihoods, local economic growth, and the overall transformation of the municipality.
