La Dade-Kotopon Assembly elects new presiding member in unanimous vote

The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) has elected a new Presiding Member following a peaceful and well-organized Assembly meeting that underscored the body’s commitment to democratic governance.

Aaron Anang Akrong was unanimously elected, securing all 14 votes cast by members present. He was subsequently sworn into office by Adwoa Benaso Asumadu-Sekyi, officially beginning his tenure.

In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Presiding Member, Emmanuel Nyarko Baah, expressed gratitude to Assembly Members for their cooperation during his time in office. He congratulated his successor and called for continued unity and collaboration to sustain the Assembly’s progress, while also highlighting achievements recorded under his leadership.

Municipal Chief Executive, Alfredos Nii Anyetei welcomed the newly elected Presiding Member and pledged the Executive’s full support.


He emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between the General Assembly and the Executive Committee in achieving the Assembly’s development goals.

The successful election highlights LaDMA’s dedication to transparency, unity, and democratic principles in managing the affairs of the municipality.
