Tano South MP Honours Health and Education Workers

In a gesture of appreciation for the tireless efforts of health and education workers in shaping the future of the Tano South Constituency, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Asiedu, has organised a special recognition ceremony to acknowledge their invaluable contributions.

The award scheme, an initiative of Hon. Asiedu, seeks to celebrate the dedication and hard work of professionals in the two sectors while serving as a source of motivation for others.

The event was attended by the Member of Parliament for Tano South, Hon. Charles Asiedu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Abdul Rahman Salam; the Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II; the Municipal Health Director; the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Agnes Amihere; health and education staff; awardees; and members of the general public.

In her opening remarks, the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Agnes Amihere, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for complementing government efforts through investment in human capital development.

She commended teachers and health workers for their dedication and commitment, noting that their sacrifices—often made under challenging conditions—have significantly impacted lives in the municipality.

She urged them to continue their good work, adding that the recognition should serve as encouragement to strive for excellence and inspire others to emulate their exemplary service.

In a brief address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, described health and education workers as the backbone of the constituency’s development.

He noted that the award scheme is a step in the right direction, as it will boost morale and motivate workers to excel in their respective fields.

Hon. Frimpong further indicated that under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, various initiatives—including infrastructure development, provision of potable water, and supply of furniture—are being implemented to create a conducive environment for effective teaching and healthcare delivery.

Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Charles Asiedu expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the workers, acknowledging their selfless service and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of people in Tano South.

He stated that the initiative fulfils a campaign promise and is intended to serve as a model for future administrations.

He assured stakeholders in the health and education sectors of his commitment to prioritising their welfare and pledged continued support for programmes that enhance service delivery and professional growth.

The Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II, also expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Asiedu for his dedication to the welfare of workers in the municipality.

She praised the resilience and commitment of the health and education staff, noting that their efforts continue to make a positive impact despite existing challenges.

Nana Serwaa II congratulated the awardees and encouraged all workers to remain committed to their professions, assuring them of her continuous support and prayers.
