The donation follows a working visit by the Municipal Chief Executive , Mr. Eric Stanley Acquah, to the two institutions on Wednesday, 4th February 2026. During the visit, the MCE engaged officers and personnel of the Fire Service and the Ambulance Service on their operational challenges and general welfare concerns. Among the issues raised was the lack of adequate mattresses in the crew rest rooms, a situation that affected the comfort and readiness of officers who work long hours and remain on standby to respond to emergencies.

In response to this concern, the Municipal Assembly acted swiftly to address the challenge by providing the mattresses to support the two services. The intervention is aimed at enhancing the well-being of personnel and ensuring they are adequately rested to perform their critical duties effectively.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Assembly, Mr. Acquah reiterated the importance of the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service in safeguarding lives and property within the municipality. He commended the officers for their dedication, sacrifice, and professionalism, often demonstrated under difficult working conditions.

The Municipal Chief Executive assured the officers and men of both services that the Assembly remains committed to addressing other outstanding challenges confronting the institutions. He emphasized that the donation forms part of a broader effort by the Assembly to strengthen emergency response services through sustained collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Mr. Acquah further noted that improving the welfare of emergency service personnel is essential to enhancing operational efficiency and public safety, adding that the Assembly will continue to explore avenues to provide logistical and institutional support to the services.

Officers of the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service expressed their gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly for the timely donation. They described the gesture as a significant morale booster and pledged their continued commitment to serving the people of Mfantseman with diligence and professionalism
