Dome-Kwabenya MP Distributes Over 2,500 Bags of Fertilizer to Boost Farming in Ga East Municipality
The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu, has distributed thousands of bags of fertilizer to organized farmer groups within the Ga East Municipality as part of efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and support farmers ahead of the 2026 farming season.

The intervention saw the distribution of 2,000 bags of 25kg NPK fertilizer, 300 bags of 50kg Urea fertilizer, and 200 cartons of one-litre liquid fertilizer to various farmer associations operating within the municipality.
Beneficiary groups included Brazi Land Farmers, Peace and Love Farmers, Shalom Farmers, Westlands Farmers, Kusasi Atomic Farmers, Papao Farmers, Feeding Mamana Farmers, Evergreen Farmers, and the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to reduce production costs for farmers, increase crop yields, strengthen food security, and promote sustainable agricultural development within the constituency and the municipality at large.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu reaffirmed her commitment to supporting local farmers and advancing the agricultural sector, emphasizing that agriculture remains a critical source of employment, income generation, and economic growth for many households.
She noted that investing in farmers is essential to improving livelihoods and ensuring food sufficiency, adding that the intervention was designed to provide timely support to farmers ahead of the major farming season.

The beneficiary farmer groups expressed profound appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the gesture, describing the fertilizer support as timely and significant in helping them overcome rising input costs and improve agricultural production.
The fertilizer distribution underscores the commitment of both government and the Dome-Kwabenya MP to empowering farmers, boosting local food production, and strengthening the agricultural value chain within the Ga East Municipality.
