Sefwi-Boako Residents Appeal for Completion of Stalled TVET Project

The residents, in separate interviews, expressed concern over the prolonged abandonment of the facility despite the significant progress made on the project.

According to them, completion of the TVET centre would provide young people in the area with access to technical and vocational skills training, enhance employability, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the community.

Mr. Yaw Nkuah, a resident, called on the Member of Parliament for Wiawso and the Wiawso Municipal Assembly to work together to ensure the completion of the project.

He noted that the facility would spare students and trainees the burden of travelling long distances to access technical and vocational education.

A visit to the project site revealed that the facility, which is at various stages of completion, has been overtaken by weeds, with no contractor currently on site.

Commenting on the issue, Mr. Nkrumah Augustine, Assembly Member for the Boako North Electoral Area, described technical and vocational education as a critical driver of socio-economic development.

He expressed optimism that the Government would take the necessary steps to complete the project and make it operational for the benefit of the youth.

Mr. Augustine disclosed that he had raised concerns about the stalled project during a Municipal Assembly meeting and was assured that work would resume and be completed.

He therefore urged the Assembly to honour its commitment and expedite efforts to complete the Boako TVET project.

The facility is strategically located between Boako and Anyinabrim along the Wiawso road and is expected to serve several communities within the municipality upon completion.
