Date Created : 11/5/2026 : Story Author : News Ghana/Ghanadistricts.com
The event, held on 6 October 2026, formed part of the Business in a Box project being implemented by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) with funding support from the Mastercard Foundation. The trade show brought together various Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) operating within the district to exhibit their products and services to the public. Among the products displayed were locally manufactured soap, processed food items such as gari and shito, clothing and other locally produced goods.
The initiative provided participating entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase the quality and variety of their products, interact with potential customers and explore opportunities to expand their businesses.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South, Hon. Jonathan Birikorang, was present at the event to witness the exhibition and interact with participating business owners. The gathering also created a platform for entrepreneurs to network, exchange ideas and establish business relationships that could support the growth and sustainability of their enterprises.
Through the exhibition and direct engagement with customers, participating businesses were given an opportunity to market and sell their locally made products, while drawing attention to the entrepreneurial potential within the district. The Business in a Box project is designed to support business development and entrepreneurship by providing opportunities for small businesses to improve their operations, access markets and strengthen their capacity to compete.
The collaboration between the Ghana Enterprises Agency and the Assin South District Assembly reflects ongoing efforts to promote local economic development and create an enabling environment for small and medium-sized businesses.
The Assembly's support for the trade show forms part of broader efforts to encourage entrepreneurship, strengthen local industries and improve economic opportunities for residents.
By providing platforms for local businesses to exhibit their products and connect with customers, the initiative is expected to contribute to the growth of small enterprises and promote the consumption of locally manufactured goods within the district.
